So people are freezing and starving to death in Kentucky, and the media is where? Shouting from the rooftops about the inability of the government to protect its citizens?
Not so much.
Why? I'm just speculating and of course I *could* be wrong ... but I doubt it.
Kentucky is not New Orleans. There aren't thousands of black people suffering. And Bush isn't president anymore.
Now Barry sits in his warm snug office (kept at a toasty 72 degrees) while white folks (and you know there are black people in Kentucky too...it's really NOT about race ... but you know if it were another major minority location it would be front page news) freeze to death. What a jackass.
Where's the outrage??? Where's the blame pointed toward our dear leader as they pointed toward Bush during Katrina? The media seemed to think that the president was personally responsible for the disaster there. Why isn't The One responsible now? Hypocrisy anyone?
The Anchoress has wonderful coverage on this issue. I pray the people of Kentucky get power back and recover soon.

It IS all about race. And it's all about the left's hatred of Bush.
Ugh.
It starts with the Governor - he should have declared a state of emergency when he found out exactly how bad it was. Maybe he did, since FEMA started shipping stuff in...
It all sounds like a big cluster$%&! if you ask me. The President has no responsibility here saving an OK, I believe. Agencies beneath him are supposed to handle everything.

Bush responded as soon as federal help was requested.
I believe the point Megan is making is that suddenly everyone seems to understand NOW that the Federal Govt. isn't expected to be first responders.
When it was Bush, he was being negligent and careless.
Neither Bush nor Obama was/is responsible for sending in FEMA until it is requested by the state and local authorities.
The media just doesn't see it that way. It was a good excuse to accuse Bush of being racist (which is way I said in my first comment that it IS all about race.)
