It's Going to be a Long Day

My coworker just lectured me on the importance and significance of this momentous occasion.

BARF!!!

The whole pomp and circumstance is ridiculous and annoying. I don't care who is being inaugurated - I think the whole ceremony is always overblown no matter who is being sworn in.

But apparently I should be in awe because he's black and his parents weren't legally allowed to marry in 16 states when he was born and he's black and it's a big deal.

Can I go home yet?

I don't care what color he is. The transfer of power will occur peaceful just as it always does. He is just another politician who speaks from both ends promising whatever he can to bribe people for their votes. Plus he's a slimy Chicago politician. Bonus.

I'm sick of the whole thing. I see it everywhere. No matter where I go. I get tired of news stories when they are overblown - like the Katrina coverage. I couldn't get away from it. Or the Tsunami. Anything that takes over the news ticks me off. But he's even taken over commercials.

I feel sick. Seriously. Sick. Not sure why. Maybe it's because I have actual important things to worry about - like an uncle in the hospital after having a NINE pound kidney removed. It was larger than the size of a basketball.

There are real issues out there that matter. And I am just in the grouchiest of grouchy moods today.

Yup. Ditto, pretty much.
