The Alarm Scared Him Away

A lady gets on her treadmill. It's dark outside and her windows have no shades, so the "bad guys" lurking outside can see right inside. She's jammin' with her iPod (or whatever) in and all of a sudden the bad guys kick the front door in.

*** ALARM *** ALARM *** ALARM ***

The phone rings ... oh thank God ... it's Brink's calling to make sure she's okay.

But don't worry ... the alarm scared the bad guys off. And Brink's will send the authorities who will be there in what? Ten minutes?

My barf-o-meter was up high on this one. How does she know the bad guys got scared off? Maybe the bad guys knew that it would take time for the cops to get there.

You know how she should have reacted? Run for her gun. That's a lot better protection than any stupid alarm or cops 10 minutes away (screw ten minutes...2 minutes away).

And yes, I watch too much TV.

I have the alarm, but I have a gun too. The problem if you shoot them is if you don't kill them they sue you. If you kill the scumbag then the family sues you. Then there are the attorney's that will say your life wasn't in danger. How do they know? If you bust in my door, I'm thinking you are up to no good.

I don't watch television at all!

Have a terrific day. :)

Every time I see that commercial I start screaming... some things just set me off.

I've had alarm systems and by the time the phone rings the burgler has killed the homeowner and any dogs in residence, grabbed enough for his next day's fix and is a mile away.

I don't have one anymore.

Obviously, having a gun is a good idea when dealing (reactively) with some scumbag breaking into your house.

A good (proactive) tip? Close the fucking curtains.

hahahaha Speakdog...that is my hubby's BIGGEST pet peve. If it is halfway dark and I still have the shades open he freaks out. LOL I do like having them closed too though.
