8 Weeks and 4 Days

I am counting down the days to my second trimester and I had better NOT be one of those women who have "morning" sickness the whole way through pregnancy or I might have to protest. I don't know who I'd protest but someone would get an ear full.

We had our first ultra sound yesterday...dang that heart beat is STRONG. And they confirmed the due date...almost exactly the estimated due date...October 3. That's a lot of October birthdays for our family ... my grandma's was Oct 2. I have an aunt, uncle, and sister in law in October as well. I bet my kid gets more presents though. :)

I am utterly and completely miserable. I'm nauseous ALL freaking day long. None of this 'morning' crap and move on. Oh no. It's all day and night.

Saltines only help temporarily. Ginger Ale makes me burp. They have a yummy smoothie at work that actually seems to help for about an hour. Of course it costs over $3! But I will gladly pay for temporary relief.

Of course, my nausea last night probably had more to do with the blathering idiot I'm supposed to call president. I couldn't take more than 5 minutes.

I will say that Michelle at least looked more fashionable...purple is a good color for her.

The morning sickness will eventually pass. So I'm told anyway.

I didn't watch the three ring circus. It's all about welfare as far as I'm concerned.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hug. :)

Yes, the "morning" sickness WILL pass. I'm at the very-tail end of baby #4 and I can offer this tip for nausea because saltines & ginger ale didn't work for me at all: peppermint.

Peppermint is a natual 'antidote' to nausea... you can try peppermint tea, altoids, peppermint gum... I ended up going to the store and buying bulk candy bags of those red/white swirly starlight little round candies and sucking on those night and day.

They were the only thing that worked for me. Maybe they'll help for you, too :)

and CONGRATULATIONS!!

MommyKoz beat me to it! Peppermint is excellent and Whole Foods sells this stuff called 'Ginger Trips'.... little ginger tabs you chew up and they're amazingly good for nausea.

Hope you feel better!

I've never been pregnant, but whenever I'm nauseated, I drink bitters and soda. Works like a charm.

As for Michelle... why can't she put on some damn sleeves? She's never dressed appropriately, in my opinion. Her husband is addressing the joint houses of Congress, for crying out loud, and she looks like she's headed out for cocktails with the gals. Not to mention that it's February.

Very good point Jana...the short sleeves didn't occur to me. I was just glad to not see her in curtains.

I will definitely try the peppermint. I'm always so miserable that I'll try almost anything at this point. :)
