Good News and Bad News

This day is going to suck.

One of my favorite coworkers, who has worked here for 28 years, got her packet and lay off notice today. :(

Me on the other hand get another few months to sweat it out. For now my position stays where it is, but it's not necessarily a permanent stay. The work I do has been mandated by the CEO to be done on a global basis for all clients. I only do US. So the global responsibility falls to Finance...I do not work in finance.

So if they come up with a process that doesn't include me I'm out. Nothing is certain right now. I was hoping today would be it...I'd know one way or the other. No such luck.

The good news is that today I still have a job and a paycheck. I'll be able to collect a paycheck for a couple more months at least.

The mood here SUCKS! I had a total stomach ache coming in and it hasn't gone away yet. People have down faces and everyone looks worried. I feel like crying. This is my family and people are being let go.

Okay...now I am crying.

It sucks to be stuck in purgatory still.

But, like you said, you still have a paycheck for a while! It gives you time to plan and save more...

I'm like you, though. After sweating it out for so long, you'd like to just KNOW one way or the other.

Ice cream will help your tunky-ache. :)

I'm so sorry, Megan. It's nice to know that you have a job for the time being, but losing a your coworker is... ugh. :(

I'm sorry to hear that, I just hope that you can pull through this. I wish you the very best through prayers. Find a hobby to get your mind off things, I've found blogging to be mine...

I'm glad you're OK for now Megan. And being a Boeing employee, I understand the "Survivor's Guilt" too. Making it through one Reduction in Force exercise only to wait to hear about what your fate may be later is so stressful. But there is nothing you can do about it. Just try not to think about it for now and take care of yourself, your baby-to-be and your pup!
