Happy Earth Day

I'm doing my ever luvin' best to ignore this "holiday" but boy it's everywhere. I can't seem to escape. Even some of the more sensible blogs I read are talking about making their blogs Carbon Neutral.

Uh huh.

Carbon Neutrality is a scam. And impossible to boot. There's just no such thing.

I've decided that in honor of Earth Day I will breath MORE to try to make up for these nonsensical so called earth friendly actions. And to make up for the fact that I am riding the bus this week, which I'm only doing to save money, not the earth.

But seriously...all the holier-than-thou greenies just make me want to trash the environment and go pour oil in the Sound. And that goes against my nature. I LOVE the environment. We have one of the MOST beautiful states and I love seeing the mountains, the plains, the swamps, the forests...we have everything. The last thing I want to do is pollute my environment.

Not polluting my environment is a long way from trying to save the planet or becoming carbon neutral (I don't think even death will create carbon neutrality will it...don't we give off various gases as we decompose?).

And I don't recall Earth Day ever being such a big deal, do you? I have vague recollections from when I was younger of Earth Day being mentioned here and there, but not everywhere as it appears to be now. Is it going to be on par with Christmas or Thanksgiving someday?

*sigh* I realize that Mother Gaia is the new politically correct religious icon but do they really need their own holiday. On the other hand, if I get the day off of work I'm all for it. :)

Some days I thank God I'm a hermit and only watch TV on Hulu and Netflix.

There's too much stupidity out there and Earth Day is just a part of it... blech.

I know...I watch way too much TV but it's the internet and radio that gets me hot under the collar! :)

You am me both. My daughter brought home three saplings from her school which we were supposed to plant to offset our carbon footprints. I thought it was nice of them to send them home in a plastic bag.
