Racial Victimization Causes Violence

If you constantly tell kids that they are victims, that they will never get ahead because of the color of their skin, that they are "owed" something from others because of the color of their skin ...

You will get kids who are messed up.

"Asian students say black students routinely pelt them with food, beat, punch and kick them in school hallways and bathrooms, and hurl racial epithets like "Hey, Chinese!" and "Yo, Dragon Ball!""

Blacks are not the only race in the world who have been oppressed in the past. Schools teach about slavery to a fault. But they don't seem to teach about other incidents of slavery in other countries (some still ongoing), or about the horrible treatment of other races even here in America (Chinese, Japanese, Irish, etc.).

Would this behavior be tolerated in any way shape or form if the assaulting students were white? No WAY. There would be none of these wimpy protestations that the school district is doing all it can. There would be immediate expulsion of students and loud protests by the offended parties.

"Ackerman apologized to the students but was criticized for bringing a busload of black "student ambassadors" to one hearing , students who were not involved in the strife. She also stirred tensions when she complained that the cultural crisis was "taking up a lot of my time.""

I also think that if the ones being beaten up were white we wouldn't even hear this much about it.

More details are sure to come out and I'm sure there are "guilty" parties on both sides (as my mom says, it takes two to tango) but those responsible for the bullying need to be severely punished and removed from the school to allow those who want to learn to do so safely. I really can't imagine being scared at school.

White Guilt Should Die

I have never once seen in person any sort of "whites only" sign in relation to anything - rest rooms, water fountains, or bus seating. Nor have I ever gone to school where students were segregated by color. I've worked my entire work life with people of all races.

So why in the hell should I feel guilty over slavery or the policies of segregation from decades and decades ago?!?!

In my Entrecard browsing I came across a post about Martin Luther King Jr day from one of my jewelry blog stops. It was definitely interesting and I can't imagine growing up in those times - and I hope that I would be as adamantly against the segregation of people based on the color of their skin as I am against the supposed guilt I should feel for those actions now.

As a child, the blog author actually had it right, while her father had it wrong:

"When I was about 12 yrs old I complained to my father that since I hadn't been alive during slavery in America, and that neither I or my family members had participated in the segregation of blacks, why did I or we have to pay the price in the world that we lived in?

My father very wisely and sternly explained that as long as I had a white face in a world where blacks continued to be segregated, where prejudice against blacks still prevailed then, I too, would bare the guilt and the shame of those before me."

Her father was WRONG! And I believe quite cruel for telling a little girl that she should feel shame and guilt based on sins perpetrated by those that came before her.

I can understand if he'd explained that (at that time) blacks were still being segregated and so their "forcing" (not in a negative way, mind you) her into black schools and experiences was their form of showing how wrong it was. I totally get that and it was an admirable action they took in those times. But doing so out of guilt or shame was wrong. Do it because it's the right thing to do to support equal rights (not special rights...equal rights).

And I think we're pretty much there. Yes, there are still issues and racists do exist. But they are shunned. ACTUAL racists...not this racial political crap where if you disagree with affirmative action you're labeled a racist. Or if you disagree with The One you're clearly a member of the KKK.

No, I mean actual racist institutions where I would not allowed to sit with a person of a different color skin. Fifty years ago that would be frowned upon and in some cases illegal. Now it is unheard of.

Of course, there are still places that promote segregation and the separation of the races, but since they are politically correct we don't talk about them. You certainly wouldn't see a Caucasian Fund or a college that promotes their "white" history. So we obviously aren't all the way to MLK's dream of judging people by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin.

But I think we're getting there. And my son will NOT be made to feel guilty for sins of people before him. If his teachers ever try to pull that crap I will go ballistic like a mama bear. No one is going to try to make him feel shame for being white. That is wrong! Just as wrong as someone looking down on someone who has black, brown, red, or yellow skin (who came up with 'yellow' skin for Asians??? or red for Indians? My cousins are Asian and they aren't yellow...I have yellower skin then they do!).

He will also learn that while politically correct racial politicians bitch and moan about supposed modern day grievances, there are actual slaves still being bought and sold in our world. The U.S. spilled blood to end the practice here but other countries still practice this horrific human abuse today. There are ACTUAL guilty and shameful people out there in the world. Why don't we try to solve that problem instead of creating imaginary ones here.

Anyway...just heard a report on the radio that a "blue ribbon" panel charged with investigating the Fort Hood shooting said that the military should not just be concerned with Muslim extremism, but with religious extremism of all kinds.

*sigh*

Diversity Woman to the Rescue

Wow...I am just in awe...and not in a good way. Via Freeman Hunt's blog (a newly discovered gem) comes a paragon of virtue in teaching her child that two men can be married and both be daddies, and that two women can be married together and both be mommies. It really does almost read like an Onion article. You have to read it to believe it.

I think her daughter's instinct was the correct one and this mother is trying to teach her child that nature is wrong. Her daughter instinctively knows that two boys can't marry and two girls can't marry. Why not? Well, because it's not natural. Mating in the wild never occurs between two species of the same sex...you cannot continue a species without two opposites. Ever heard of opposites attract? I've got no issue with people seeing or dating or "marrying" whoever they want...but don't try to convince me that it is natural and "okay". It just isn't.

Unicorns and rainbows of utopia are the goals we should strive for as human beings...unless you're white and heterosexual and then you need to flog yourself for the sins of your ancestors (whether they did anything wrong or not) and feel piles of guilt for being "privileged" (not sure how to define privileged though...is just having pale pigmentation of the skin the only qualification?).

No one culture (unless you're American) or religion (unless you're a Christian) is better than any other. All beliefs are equal (unless you're a conservative of course...or in the military) and we should never judge anyone else (unless you're a redneck, racist, bigot, homophobe, anglophile...or just a Republican...or Christian).

And the RNC is evil (actually, I have a hard time arguing that one lately) and according to some in the comments, flag waving Americans are performing genocide on innocent Muslims and anyone else who gets in our way. As if the little friend of her daughter comes from a religion that promotes tolerance and diversity...I'll give you three guesses what religion it is. =)

Diversity is such a sacred cow to liberals that there are actual businesses created in order to promote it...as if running a business is all about how diverse you and your staff are; rather than creating jobs and wealth. I'm sorry but if you know how to do the job I don't care if you're black, brown, purple, or red. And I sure as hell would not hire a company to "teach" me how to diversify (sadly, my current employer has fallen down this rabbit hole...it's quite disturbing).

And lest this queen of diversity (she's the co-founder and president of one of those scams, er, I mean businesses - New Demographic, a diversity education firm - WTF does that mean exactly?) question my own bona-fides ... I'm part Indian (the native kind), part Ukranian, a bunch of who the hell knows, and all American. I know lots of people (who she calls "references") of all types - gay, straight, black, white, brown, muslim - in fact in my near to immediate family we have Japanese, Taiwanese, and Jewish members. No gays or lesbians that I know of, but it wouldn't surprise me, or bother me all that much. But I'm pretty much just "white" and I'm sure that disqualifies me as able to have any opinion on the matter.

The so called diversity that this woman preaches is superficial and phony. There's no room for tolerance or diversity of THOUGHT. If you disagree you're automatically branded a racist buffoon, a bigot, a homophobe. And even though all religions are supposedly equal, if your religion says that homosexuality is a sin you're a fascist "Christianist" (what is that anyway?). Unless you are Islamic...in which case we'll forgive your judgmental views in order to prove our diversity.

Run, Lisa, Run!

This case is incredibly disturbing and frightening. That the courts found the ex-Lesbian lover (Jenkins) a more reasonable person to give custody of a child who she has no biological connection to...and what sounds like an unhealthy relationship with (radio program I'm listening to said that as a 6 year old she would come home from her visits talking and mimicking suicide and masturbating!) ... is so scary and illogical that it's hard to fathom.

It makes me sick to read the news article call this little girl Jenkins' daughter. She is NOT her daughter. Jenkins is an EX LOVER...basically an ex girlfriend.

If Jenkins were a man...an ex boyfriend with no biological connection who was only around the first 17 months of the child's life...what would the courts do?

I have NO doubt that they would award sole custody to the mother - who in this case does not sound like a mental patient as they're trying to make her out to be...she sounds like *Gasp* a Christian! Heaven forbid! A man would be laughed out of court if he tried to take this little girl away from her real mother (again...if he had been the boyfriend for such a short time and no biological connection).

There is just no such thing as "two mommies" or "two daddies"...sorry. I know it's un-PC to say that, but it's true.

I'm not "anti-Gay" ... although I'm sure someone can call me that if they wish. (Supposedly) free country and all that. My hubby's former sergeant is a lesbian who has a wonderful partner and we adore them both. What two adults do together isn't my business.

But when it comes to the welfare of children...the courts seem to be forgetting that the child's welfare matters much more than the Gay-Lesbian-Bisexual-Tranny-Whatever agenda.

I pray that Lisa and her daughter disappear for good and set up new lives.

I feel like I'm living in Bizarro world. Where the moral Christian woman is being persecuted and the Gay/Lesbian agenda is being rewarded and championed by the government. Very odd.

Having said all of that...It would be entirely different if both women had raised this little girl for all the last 7 years. The little girl WOULD have memories and a relationship with both women. But that is not the case here.

OMG - Can You Imagine?

Dear Lord the thought is frightening.

Imagine TSA unionized...and now imagine a unionized TSA threatening to strike at Christmas time.

How could their demands NOT be met? They could single handedly (is that a word?) bring the entire country to a halt.

Unionizing TSA is not what this country needs. I do think, however, that TSA agents need to be better paid and better trained. I think they should train with the Israel agents. Those people know how to get it done.

And none of this pansy political correctness of not profiling. If you're coming from a predominantly muslim country, if you look nervous and "middle eastern" ... well guess what buddy? Pull your ass out of line and find out what's going on.

If you're just nervous to fly, so be it, but at least the rest of the passengers will feel safer...pulling out little old lady with blue hair and frisking her doesn't make me feel safer at all.

This country is going to implode trying to not offend anyone. It's pathetic.

Nothing to See Here - Move Along

I as shocked when I heard about the shooting in Texas yesterday. And I immediately thought it was a terrorist event...before I even heard the A**holes name and the witness reports of him shouting Allah Akbar.

Stories are coming out that people raised concerns about this guy and his jihadist beliefs. But political correctness and diversity training won out and got 13 people killed by this nut.

The libs are already rallying around the diversity meme. It was just a freakish tragedy and had nothing to do with Islamic beliefs. Nope. Nothing to see here...move along. All praise diversity. No one's beliefs are any better than another. Everyone is equal and should be taken seriously (I was taught this in middle school and it never made sense to me...how can a cannibal's beliefs be just as equal as mine? ... at least that was my thought.)

Murderous ideology? Well, that's their belief and it needs to be respected.

I call BS. Radical jihadists should be shot in the head.

And no, I'm not saying all Muslims... I'm saying those radical Islamists who are no better than the Nazis in their hatred and blood lust. And it sounds like this gunman held sympathetic views toward suicide bombers and wanting a caliphate.

How could the military even allow this guy to remain in uniform?

More of that Lefty Tolerance

Watching Fox News as I got ready for work this morning and Megan Kelly (love her!) was interviewing Miss California (watch the video here)...I wrote about the shit storm she started with her honest answer to a stupid question.

How DARE she believe in traditional marriage between one man and one woman!?! She is obviously an illiterate, bible thumping, bigot.

At least that is what the judges are implying, as are the people in charge of the California pageant. Many folks are saying that her answer cost her the crown.

Hilton has made it very clear by his comments that Miss California did not get a good score from him, and that she "lost because of that question."

He's the one that sounds like a bigot to me. Since he didn't agree with her answer he scored her zero. What an ass. They're supposed to judge the contestants on poise and how they hold themselves in public ... not necessarily how they answer the question. Just because he disagreed doesn't mean he should have given her a zero.

If she was super upset she could apparently sue...though I wouldn't bother.

"It's her religious beliefs which prompted her to say 'I don't believe in same-sex marriages.' So she was espousing her beliefs," and could sue for a violation of Title VII, which forbids discrimination on the basis of religion.

I agree with other analysts who say she really doesn't have a case...it's a sucky situation but not really lawsuit material.

I was in a pageant when I was 20 (or 21...I can't remember...the years are starting to blur). Each girl had to pick a topic to research, write about, and defend in front of the judges. I picked animal research because I was a loony liberal and didn't believe animal research should be used for anything - from makeup testing to cancer research. And I defended my research and paper ... but it was a little too controversial for the judges and was apparently the major reason why I lost (I was first runner up and Miss Congeniality if you can believe that).

But that was my opinion and I defended it...I didn't back down just because it wasn't the popular view. (Of course, I was an idiot and completely wrong about that particular issue but that's not the point.)

That is what Miss California is doing. She is defending herself and her beliefs...and the beliefs of millions of Americans...not to mention the majority of Californians who just passed their marriage bill last year.

I could care less what two men or two women do in their homes. Nor do I particularly object to their relationship in general. My husband's ex-sergeant is a lesbian and I adore her and her partner....I truly do. They are wonderful, generous, amazing women. But I don't think they should have the right to get "married" in the traditional sense of the word. If they want to have a ceremony and get their lawyer to write up a contract for all the legal stuff that's great. But you will never convince me that their relationship is the same as the one I have with my husband.

I guess that makes me a bigot too. Oh well. I've been called worse and I'm sure it won't be the last time.

I'm quite glad that Miss California spoke her mind and said what she believed to be true. They asked her a question and clearly only wanted one answer...which she did not give.

When asked by judge Perez Hilton, an openly gay gossip blogger, whether she believed in gay marriage, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, said "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

First of all, since when does being a blogger qualify you to judge the Miss USA pageant? Second, I'm surprised she even got first runner up with her politically incorrect answer.

I say good for her for standing up for her beliefs and defending how she was raised. I hope she sticks to her guns.

I'm a Christian and I Believe in Evolution

Yup. You read right. I am a Christian...though admittedly not a very "good" one (Is there such a thing?) as I haven't been to church in about three years or so. We plan to start back up but it sure is hard to get motivated some Sundays.

I believe in God and I believe Jesus died for my sins.

I also believe that this universe is way more complicated than any scientist can explain. Just look at the Global Warming "debate" (can it be a debate if one side says it's settled?). Science just can't fully explain everything.

When I was in high school I went to a four square Pentecostal church. No idea how I ended up there but I was there for more than four years and even helped teach Sunday school. I was turned off of the youth group at one point because the pastor said that evolution was not possible.

*insert blank stare here*

Because in the very next sentence he said God could do anything (which I believe).

So let me get this straight? God is all powerful and can do anything but not create a world in which evolution exists? Gotcha. See ya later.

His "proof" that evolution couldn't exist? Break apart a watch and spread the pieces all over the world. In no way could those pieces ever "reform" to become a watch again.

Uh...except God can do anything right? So why couldn't he reform the watch?

Illogical.

I don't necessarily believe that humans evolved from Apes. But I do know that humans HAVE evolved ... there is plenty of proof of that just in the last few hundred years (we're taller, living longer, etc).

And people who believe that humans hunted dinosaurs and that the earth is only a few thousand years old need to get mental help. They give Christians a very bad name.

Harry is Not a Bigot

I saw a news report on Fox this weekend about Prince Harry and his so called "racial slurs."

First of all, when I heard what he'd said I just rolled my eyes. Those are the most lame racial slurs I've ever heard. "Paki" and "towel head" ???

I've never even heard the term Paki, but if it is truly as offensive as calling someone a "Jap" over here then he probably shouldn't have said it. Except that he was joking around with his friends. I doubt any of them were highly offended.

Second of all - it happened THREE f'ing years ago. And this is news why? Slow news day with all the bombing and killing going on in the world? This is what they want to focus on?

I feel bad for this kid. He can't go to the john without someone knowing about it. It's not like he asked to be the prince. He's young and he's in the military - I know what young military mouths can sound like and it ain't pretty.

People just need to lay off.

I Think I'm Now Less Respectful

I had to take a mandatory training class at work on Tuesday. It was by far the most painful and annoying class I've ever had to take.

It had phrases like "protected class" and "diversity" and other insulting words that made me roll my eyes and shake my head.

Unfortunately I had no choice but to take the class. I had even asked my boss what would happen if I didn't take the class. In this environment though I really am not interested in rocking the boat *too* much.

Of course that didn't mean that I took the class too seriously. It was PAINFUL. Seriously and truly painful.

The video segments played were ridiculous and beyond reality. A woman walks out of a meeting to chat with her male coworkers. She's clearly looking for feedback and oh boy do they "give" it to her ... if you catch my drift. They act like frat boys telling her she sure kept their attention and it wasn't her presentation. And has she been working out.

Yeah...I get that all the time!

The instructor is a lawyer (non-practicing) so of course this kind of thing keeps her in business. Diversity training - help get the economy rolling!

The only time I paid any attention is when they talked about inappropriate touching because I will snap a finger or punch someone who tries to touch me inappropriately. As a matter of fact I helped get someone fired from a previous job. He thought it was okay to "brush up" against females ... he "accidentally" touched my butt and even my boobs a couple of times before we figured out what the hell he was doing. (Why did it take more than once you ask? Because I was 16 and it was a fast food resteraunt where there wasn't exactly a lot of room. People bumped into each other all the time...but this finally became obviously on purpose.) I cannot STAND to be touched, even by accident (and no, that doesn't apply to my husband or hugs from little kids ... I love little kids) even by my mom or brother. Grandpa always thinks it's funny to "force" a hug from me but I don't mind from him ... I play along. Even my grandma had to "demand" her hug when she was alive.

But stranger touching? BACK THE FUCK OFF. That's pretty much the tone of my body language.

So I did participate in that part because I think even the nicest people don't necessarily mean to get in people's space. Some people are huggers and don't realize that it can make other seriously uncomfortable.

But all that other crap ... "be sensitive to other people's nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity" ... makes me want to puke.

I just got the feedback survey and I wasn't exactly subtle. When asked what I recommended for improving the class I suggested canceling it all together. It's an insult to thinking human beings.

If someone has a problem with another person they either need to confront the person, report it to their manager, and keep going up until the situation gets resolved. If it doesn't get resolved within the company go to a lawyer. There are many who work pro-bono or at least don't require payment until a case is won.

It's incredibly insulting and punitive to force associates to attend these kinds of things. I have done nothing wrong and yet am punished and assumed to be an ass who has to be coached to behave in an appropriate manner.

My blog may be disrespectful and annoying but trust me ... in real life I can be an angel when I want to.

The whole class (it lasts over 3 hours!) I was just thinking about how much it cost and how we're cutting jobs. Cancellation of the class costs $200. There were 26 people in class. That is $5,200 a class and there were 2 classes that day. $10,400 for that one class. The books were really fancy, spiral bound with high quality paper. TOTAL WASTE OF FUCKING MONEY!!!

One of our associates who was with us for over 20 years was just let go and I'm forced to take this waste of money crap class? WTH?!?

As you can see, I'm still a little ticked about the whole thing. I really do hope they cancel the class going forward. But somehow I doubt it.

My State is Insane

I don't understand something.

If Atheism is the belief in nothing then why are should they be allowed to post hateful signs against a Nativity scene at the state capital? I mean, they aren't celebrating anything. Christmas has nothing to do with any sort of atheist celebration (is there such a thing?).

If some Wiccans or Pagans wanted to put up a Winter Solstice celebration scene I'd be ambivalent about it.

But our governor, in all her wisdom (hahahaha), decided to let these assholes post a sign that says in part...

"There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds."

Huh?

The guy in charge of this Atheist protest says that he just wants their place at the table. WHY? The "winter" season has nothing at all to do with Atheism. Christmas? Yes. Hanukkah? Yes. Ramadan? Sometimes...that one seems to move around. Even the stupid cult holiday of Kwanza has more legitimacy than this stunt.

This is not about freedom of speech. No one is asking for them to be "silenced" but the decision to allow their hate filled anti-religion sign is yet another war on Christmas act. It defies logic. Which is what government is good at I suppose.

Bill O'Reilly talked about it on his show last night (not that I watch it ... hubby told me and they talked about it on the radio this morning) and even gave out the governor's phone number, which I thought was hilarious.

I hope they take the sign down. It's disgraceful and distracting in this season ... which is supposed to be about helping others, celebrating the birth of Christ, and Santa. =)

Good for Him!

I'm glad someone is standing up to these ridiculous politically correct "training" classes.

I've been trying to avoid a similar training class at my work but I've caved. At first the class was "highly recommended" then it became mandatory. It's supposedly going to teach me how to be more respectful in the workplace.

Uh huh. Sure it is. As if a class is going to change my way of thinking. Or make me a more politically correct person.

I tried to explain to my boss that I think the class is insulting. He didn't get it. I think he thinks I'm just trying to be difficult. Perhaps. Except, as I explained to him, I've had these kinds of classes since I started working. And the same kind of philosophy crammed down my throat since I was in Kindergarten.

But considering the fact that I want to keep my job and the environment isn't exactly stable I am going to take the class. I may take my iPod but I'll take the class. It gives the company cover for lawsuits I suppose. But I still think it's stupid.
